10/06/03 09:46 AM: Bears Win!!

It is a great day to be alive in Chicago if you like sports. Da Bears have finally won! Unfortunately due to the fact I am in school in Omaha, and the local coverage says that we had to watch Chiefs-Broncos, I didn’t get to see the game. Chiefs-Broncos was a good game mind you, but I’d rather watch my Bears, no matter how much they lose and cause me to go into spasms of disgust. But regardless, Da Bears finally won. They are not worthless, and I am one game farther from getting a heart attack.

I guess the Cubbies won too. I don’t really follow them, but I still think its interesting how much people over here are going all crazy for them. I don’t know why. No, wait, I do and fairweather fans suck. You are a scourge on the face of the earth. Its whats wrong with sports today, among other things. Stay true. After calling people posers and hearing, “No man, I’ve been a fan for a long time” about 10 million times I just don’t care anymore. No one likes the Sox anyway. No Southside love.

There is something magical about college when it is 10:30 and you are done for the day. I mean, I still have my astronomy class tonight, but I wouldn’t really call it class. Its more like naptime, but hey, lets not get into semantics.

  1. Hey, this message is for Dave. Something kind of funny happened today in broadcasting. The current news director at WHFH received a package from the Henry Ford Museum with a press pass for Mr. David Stroup, and a letter. The letter appolagized for sending the press pass late.

  2. HMM, interesting. That’s kind of awesome, and it makes me miss WHFH.

Remember, if you all need a Washington correspondent to go on the air from the nation’s capital, give me a call!

Btw, you can reach me at 202-487-7433.

  3. Thanks, the programming on WHFH has been so awesome this year. Last night the 5th episode of Close Up & Sports Mania aired. Something new I’m doing for Close Up this year is airing hour-long radio dramas at the end of each month. This month, I’m putting on a production of “War of the Worlds” by H.G. Wells. This production will star HF students, and be more of a modern adaptation of the 1938 broadcast by Orson Welles. Unfortunatly, Politics Now! has not aired since you were at HF, but hopefully it’ll start sooner or later.

  4. Yeah, that upsets me. Oh well, perhaps one day. Maybe it was just ahead of its time.

I’m glad to hear that other programming is going well though. Get someone to straighten out netcasting so I can listen to some of these shows.

If anyone there needs info on how to do webcasting, just tell them to drop me a line.
