11/22/02 08:34 PM: Fall
Four days until I come home to Illinois for Thanksgiving.
While I was sick this week, I seemed to have have missed the beginning of fall. Well, no, fall began a while back, but what I am referring to is fall proper. As I walked to ICC today, there was that feeling in the air—that not-quite-winter buzz. Leaves on the ground, more falling as a walked by, cool crisp air all best encapsulated by the word “November.”
Some people hate it, the typical gloomy cold November day, but not I.
This weekend, like most, will be spend for themost part working and sleeping. Two french tests and a paper due on Monday, home on Tuesday. I am counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds until I leave. Don’t misunderstand, I love it here in Washington, but I miss CHicago. I miss privacy, I miss real food, I miss relaxation, I miss driving, I miss family—I miss home.
Hopefully four days away from here will help me re-energize myself for the 13 days in December I will spend here. Final papers, and finals.
I will be happy with anything above a 3.0 average at this point. I hope to have two As, two Bs, and whatever I can salvage out of french. The last two tests will be on Monday, and will most likely determine the amount of damage I need to undo next semester. Speaking of which, I will only be taking four classes this spring, so hopefully things can be more managable and less hectic and stressful.
Hopefully.
