So I went and joined a fraternity. Originally, I just wanted to rush to get all the free stuff, but the more I got to know the guys, the more appealing greek life was to me. I am now a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Last Friday was the Bid acceptance night, which turned out to be fun. We went to a house party afterward and played beer die. That Saturday, we had our party. It turned out to be a huge thing. All of the “new members” (We aren’t pledges, because we are moving to a different system) got two tickets and were told to bring females. Apparently it was the hot ticket on campus. All the females wanted to go, so naturally we got to pick the cream of the crop. It was a great party. You had to buy your own alcohol, which kinda sucked, but the actives just gave me a wristband. Anyways, I ended up meeting with someone on the dance floor. We hit it off really well, and I went to her room after the dance. Turns out she is an RA in one of the other dorms. It was cool though. Nothing happened, we just ended up chillin in her room, but it still blows my mind.
Yeah, being a Sig Ep is pretty cool. They are a lot of fun, and I think I’ll do well by them. I have dinner with them tonight. Hopefully my laundry will be done by then. I think this might be the first time I’ve done laundry here and something hasn’t screwed up. This might be a turning point in my life here at college. I’m getting over a sore throat that I had all weekend. If I’ve learned anything from it, it s that Nyquil works really well. I slept through my 11 class yesterday. I ended up getting 10 hours of sleep that night. The funny thing is that I was still tired.
In other news, Creighton Basketball is the first team to reach 20 wins. We are currently 13 on the rankings. We were as high as 9th, but a loss to Evansville knocked us back a few. We should get a fairly good seed in the NCAA tournament if we keep it going. Kyle Korver has had a couple slow nights the past few games. What that means is that he only has 4 trays instead of 8, and only has 17 points instead of his usual 25.
