Fun with CD-Burners!
Here is roughly how tonight has gone: – Download Windows XP RC2 ISO – Realize I don’t have a CD burning program installed yet – Install Easy CD Creator 5 – System hangs on reboot – Use Last Known/Last Good Config, get into windows – Easy CD Creator doesn’t see burner – Install ASPI layer, still no luck – Install Philips CD Burner software which came with said burner – Philips software fails, reports SCSI error (Note: Drive is not a SCSI drive) – Update firmware on CD Drive – Still no luck—Uninstall both pieces of software – Reboot and install Easy CD Creator 5 again – CD Burner works
Wasn’t that fun? So now I am burning Windows XP much later than I wanted to, and I will be putting off the actual install until tomorrow morning. Grah.
