Sorry for my lack of updates the last couple days. Sometimes it’s nice to just relax, hang out with friends, and forget about all that’s wrong with the world. You’ll end up going crazy if you don’t do that every now and then.

The whole Ashcroft situation is just silly. His confirmation vote has been delayed for a week. This despite the fact that everyone has made up their made already. I dare say that most senators had probably made up their minds before the confirmation hearings even began. Perhaps I’m being too cynical, but I think I’m just being realistic when I say that Ashcroft is guaranteed to be confirmed. I mean, really, what Republican is going to vote against him? A number of Democrats have already stated that they intend to vote in his favor. I don’t think a week is going to change much. Even if those Democrats retracted their support, the deciding vote would be in the hands of Dick Cheney. I wonder how he would vote. . . .
