07/05/03 10:34 PM: Go for Vinyl

Today I bought a turntable.

People who know me might ask, “But Dave, you already collect vinyl, how is it you don’t already have a turntable?” Well, you see, while I am indeed building my own vinyl collection, I have, until now, just been using my family (read: my dad’s) turntable and stereo. My dorm room last year was far too small (192 sq. feet) to handle anything that wasn’t a dire necessity. Next year will be different, as I have a larger room (228 sq. feet) and will probably be bunking the beds. Thus, I have more room. Room enough for a turntable, stereo, and vinyl. This is good.

I probably spent way too much money on this turntable. It doesn’t help too much that my dad is quite the audiophile, either. In any case, I ended up with a very nice turntable, but it certainly wasn’t cheap.

Tomorrow nickd is having a bbq. I shall be attending, and bringing him his Radiohead tickets. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, and a good time will be had by all.

Only a few more days until my pictures from the Apple store opening come back. I can’t believe how long this is taking. I will never, ever, have Walgreens/Kodak develop my slide film again.
