02/13/02 06:38 PM: Grammys
Ok, I know I discussed this topic a while back, but I have a few more thoughts. For those who didn’t click on the link, the topic is the upcoming Grammy awards. Train’s Drops of Jupiter is up against U2’s Walk On for best Album (which means best single, it confuses some people). The other nominees for that category are Fallin’ by Alicia Keys, Video by India.Arie, and Ms. Jackson by Outkast. To me, the clear winner should be Walk On, but some people are rooting for Jupiter. I recently listened to this song again, and I still can’t make any sense of the lyrics. Is there a point to this song, other than a bunch of words strung together to sound good? I admit, meaningful lyrics are not a requirement to win this award, but still, can someone please explain what “She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey” means? Oh, and I know references to Tae-Bo are always popular … “She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo.”
Anyway, I haven’t heard anything by India.Arie, but I’m sorry, what is the deal with the period in the middle of your supposed name? I don’t get it?
Who do you think should win? Let me know!
