07/05/03 12:13 AM: Happy Birthday, America
I spent the 227th birthday of the United States of America watching Terminator 3, and then attending a local fireworks display. Terminator 3 was decent, I think it was more enjoyable than the other Terminator movies, but I don’t know if it was the best one in the series. It didn’t have the same “depth” that the others had, and by that I’m not sure what I mean. It was a good action film though.
I had forgotten how enjoyable fireworks can be. I went along with my family to Lansing, Illinois for their annual fireworks display. My town doesn’t do fireworks, and I think the ones in Lansing are probably the best in the local area. I wish I had gone downtown yesterday for the fireworks, but alas I spent the day at home. In any case, I enjoyed the fireworks. For some reason I really love those really loud ones they often use during the finale. You know, the ones that consist just of a bright flash and a very loud noise. Those are the best.
Oh, and I had a brief, but fun conversation with a fellow Voice staffer. I had seen her away message, and couldn’t help but comment on it. It reinforced my looking forward to school starting again. It should be a fun semester. That being said though, I am still going to make the most out of my summer here in Chicagoland. What that means, I don’t really know yet, but for whatever it’s worth it means something.
I apologize if my thoughts are a bit scattered here, my brain is current rather disorganized and I don’t particularlly know what all to write about.
Oh, and Chris, you should definitely come to DC.
