12/31/01 09:33 PM: Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR, HERE COMES 2002!

I can tell you one thing, I know I’m not ready. However, I do have my trust Far Side calendar ready to be out at the stroke of midnight, so things may not be as bad as I think them to be.

This is the first time a new year has come around on whichwayup.org, so I really have no traditions to follow, other than the ones I create as I go along. So, the first tradition will be Dave’s Best and Worst of 2001. As it is being done across the weblog community, I will also fill your day with worthless lists of what I think was important/non-important in the past year. I will also post a 2001 Wrap Up of events that happened to me and at the site, for those of you who have joined us recently.

One caveat is, I only thought of these ideas about five minutes ago, so that content won’t come out until tomorrow. I doubt anyone even reads this before tomorrow anyway, so things can be good!

How would I describe 2001? Well, that is tough. Basically, before September, it was a typically year of the same old useless political banter and argument over things of little-to-no importance. Things have changed, and are still changing. In some ways, things have gotten better. In other ways, they have stayed the same, and also some things have gotten worse. This will be addressed in more detail during tomorrow’s Best and Worst of 2001.

I saw Ocean’s 11 today. Personally, I loved it. It was worth the price of admission, and I had a good time. It’s one of those, as all I call it, “fun movies.” Not too serious, funny, and clever. I would recommend seeing it sometime soon, as I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
