01/02/04 03:45 PM: Help Dave go to Iowa

TAKE-TWO: I’ve found a cheaper flight, I only need to raise $209 total, and with the $20 contribution, I need $189 more. Keep it coming!

The Iowa Caucus is coming up, on January 19. I’m a big Howard Dean supporter, and I want to help make sure that he wins. To that end, I’d like to go to Iowa to campaign for him the weekend before the caucus. Now, of course I know my parents read this weblog—so don’t be alarmed, I’m not going to spend lots of money and miss class for this. BUT, the primary does only come once every four years, and I really want to help beat Bush.

So, if I went to Iowa I would need $214 for airfare, and I would leave Friday afternoon and return Sunday afternoon. Of course, this is all hypothetical, so parents, please do not be alarmed. Really, do not be alarmed. Okay? Good. Did I mention that you shouldn’t be alarmed.

In any case, it would be a good experience because I could write about it for my column in The Voice, and it would just be really interesting… Too bad it’s one week after I go back to school. I suppose that is good, though, because at least there won’t be any midterms or anything… And I have a three-day weekend the following week… ANYHOW.

    Typical of you Democrats. Always want someone else to do the work for you. Maybe you could call it wealth redistribution and be a little more successful. Good luck on the pipe dream.
