08/09/01 01:08 AM: Warped Tour
Hmm, it has been a long time since I last updated. Today was quite an experience. I won’t get into all the details now (I probably won’t later either), but I went to the Warped Tour in Buffalo today (yesterday since I’m writing this at 4 AM). My friend Pat drove two other friends and me. We followed behind another carload of friends that supposedly had directions. If they had them, they sure didn’t follow them. We ended up a quarter of a mile from Canada. Also, since we had been stupid and had been racing each other the whole way there, Pat’s engine overheated. It did this several times, including one time when it started smoking in the middle of the street in downtown Buffalo. We had to turn it off and push it to the side of the road. I’ll be damned if two (cute, for the record) girls didn’t stop and give us a full container of antifreeze/coolant. So, we finally got near where we wanted to be and found a place to park. Music, heat. yadda, yadda. It ends. We walk back. Pat makes some sort of joke (I forget what it was about), and I countered with, “You’ll be lucky if your car is still here.” We hadn’t exactly parked if Beverly Hills. We actually parked in a resident parking area for a group of apartment buildings. The area was visible between two buidlings from where we were standing at the time. We didn’t see the car. Pat ran around the corner and was relieved the find that his car was still there. Moments later, however, I heard something to the effect of, “FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” The driver side window had been smashed in. Most of what was in there was stolen. His cell phone, (in-dash) cd player, every cd he owned. They took my backpack, which contained such things as seven cds, the pair of swim trunks that I had bought two days earlier, my Mickey Mouse beach towel. Perry’s bag was gone as well. They left my frisbee, four bottles of sunblock, and most of the food we had minus a Milky Way bar. Needless to say, it was quite a day. Nevertheless, I had a great time. I’d probably be crying my eyes out, though, if I had driven (which was the plan until two days ago).
