12/19/01 09:12 PM: College essays

I am in a good mood now. I finally finished my last college essay. I will turn it in tomorrow and be done with that ordeal. Now I just sit back and wait. Also, I got an acceptance letter from Washington College today. They are offering me $17,500 annually (that’s $70,000 total) in merit-based scholarships. So that doesn’t even include whatever “need-based” financial aid I might get. That boosted my ego a bit. Then again, Washington college is my fifth choice out of the five colleges I’m applying to. Still, better than a rejection letter. I just don’t really think that place is worth the $30,000+ tuition, especially when each of the four other colleges cost about the same. Even if I have to pay more, I would rather go somewhere else. If I get offered anything decent I think I will do so. George Washington University gives you $12,000/year automatically if you get accepted into the honors program. That might be enough to convince me to go there. But it’s all just talk and speculation until April.
