07/21/02 09:10 PM: I feel better… I got better…
So today we (Parents + 1) drove up to the Northwest side for a Georgetown new student get together type deal. It was interesting, though it was a bit annoying that everyone there seemed to know each other, but since something like 15 people from one high school/prep school were there, it made it sort of awkward for those from the “slums,” aka the South Side. I met one other guy from a suburb around here (About 15 mins away), which was nice.
So I filled out my schedule online, I forgot to mention that. Right now, it looks pretty nice, but who knows if my Primary or Alternate will actually work out. Knowing my luck it will break and I will end up having classes at 6 AM. Right now, I don’t have any classes before 10:15. Not bad.
My AP credits will help, the Economics ones will let me go right into International Trade and Finance, bypassing the Intro Macro/Micro courses. The others will count for various amounts of elective credit.
Someone noted that it was a little braggy of us to sit around an gloat about our AP scores, and to a degree that would be correct. I wasn’t expecting more than a 2 or 3 in Calc BC though, because due to an illness and other various reasons (namely that and laziness) I didn’t prepare for it at all. However, some people I know said I should post them, and I gave into the peer pressure. At least I didn’t scan the score report like I did last time.
I hope to bring some more original and witty commentary here soon, as it has been lacking. However, in place of that because I am rather tired now I will just post what I think will happen to the stock market tomorrow, especially since WorldCom has filed Chapter 11.
I believe the DOW will continue to slump, dropping around 300 or so points at the opening bell. When it reaches around 7800 and all the TV channels have done “Breaking News: DOW Plummets,” there may be some buying. Not enough for a rally, but it may keep the drop down to around 200 or so points. However, this all depends on if more news about more companies comes out, or if President Bush opens his mouth. So, who knows, but whatever happens, it’s not going to be pretty. A rally is pretty much out of the question.
