I received my free sample issue of Utne Reader the other day. I finally got around to opening it today. Pretty interesting stuff, though I already have way more books and magazines and whatnot than I’ll ever get around to reading. But I did come across an article which gave a rather interesting explanation for the high rate of asthma sufferers in the U.S. Apparently, urban/suburban landscapers have an affinity for male dioecious plants. If that didn’t click, let me clarify. Each individual plant of a dioecious species is either male or female
