I went to a meeting at school today for the “Senior Buddy” program. Basically, we be nice to the freshman, show them around, that sort of thing. Taking them on a tour and showing them where things are would not be a problem except for the fact that they have remodeled the place so that we don’t even know where anything is now. There is a big hall where the main office used to be. Anyway, I ran into some friends at the meeting. We walked around the building afterward to explore. Then they offered me a ride home. I declined, as I had driven my car. Later on I learned that they had gotten into a fairly nasty accident. In fact, traffic had been diverted from the route I was going to take because of it (which I didn’t know at the time). Luckily no one was seriously hurt. That still kind of shook me up a bit when I heard about it.
