In other news, I got a note in homeroom informing me that I had won a scholarship for nothing more than doing well on certain statewide final (Regents) exams. The students in the school with the top two rankings (I have no idea how they calculate it) get $1500, and those ranked third through tenth (twelfth, maybe) get $500. I don’t know what I got. The downside is that, since it is a state-sponsored sort of thing, I only get the money if I go to college in New York. I’m only applying to one (Syracuse University). Oh well. Free money!
