This is going to be a big update because a lot has happened and I wanted to leave stuff at the top (Memorial Day and Reagan). First off, I went to my girlfriend’s sister’s wedding over Memorial Day Weekend. Even though Minneapolis has some wierd liquor laws and the plane tickets are up there in price range, it was still a great time. We went to the original Buca D’Beppos and the wedding was at the cathedral there. After the ceremony we went on a party bus and proceded to have fun. We made stops at a liquor store, a promitory point where we could see the skyline, and McDonalds, all in the wedding gowns and tuxes. I’ll try and put up a picture of my girlfriend when I get the chance or learn how to do it.

My great Uncle Ted’s fiftieth ordination was last weekend, so I got to drive back to the Big O for a weekend. I probably spent more time in the car than I did actually seeing people, but it was an interesting weekend. I learned that my great grandparents were married in St. Johns, the Cathedral on the Creighton Campus, and that my Uncle Ted said his first mass down the street from where I will be living next year. I also saw my other Uncle Ted, my mom’s brother, for the first time in about 8 years. It was a good time just to learn about the family and how big it actually is.

What else is new? Museum job sucks shit. I think I’ve figured out a way to make a fake ID, so that will be my summer project. Long distance relationships suck. Phone conversations just aren’t the same thing. My brother is looking for colleges, and doesn’t know what the hell he wants. He is thinking of going to the Culinary Institute of America. It sounds like a waste, but it puts him in Hyde Park in New York for four years, plus I get to eat all his food, so I’m not telling him not to.

Found this link on Collegehumor.com. Here is my favorite one for Whichwayup.org

Just as an afterthought, I meant to put a link to a newspaper editorial on how the Democrats are wrong to blame Bush for the economy, but it got archived by the Chicago Tribune before I could update WWU. I do think though, that it would be a good debating point in that this is always a major issue in presidential elections when it really isn’t up to the executive office on how businesses are run. Anyone who has taken a basic macro course would know this. Anyway, discuss.

Comments made.

  2. I think the key to a long distance relationship is staying busy because then you won’t be thinking about your significant other all the time. I’m going to dread having a long distance relationship. I’ll hopefully be in Missouri, she’ll probably be in New York. Sucks.

You went to the original Buca D’Beppos???
Was it better than the other ones?

  3. Keeping busy helps, but when you go from seeing each other about 40 hours a week to none, it still is gonna be a shock. As for the original vs all others, it was pretty much the same. They are all frnachised out so they have to be the same.

What the hell are you going to do in Missouri? I thought you were going to be a senoir. Slow down my little friend, for you have much to learn in the art of love and warfare.

  4. yeah… i think he’s planning waaaaaaaaaayyy in advance. which is probably not the best thing to do. don’t put too many expectations into a relationship or else you’ll both feel too much pressure to keep it up. you know?

and chris, yes i definitely relate to the seeing them all the time—seeing them not at all transition. it blows. sigh. and phone isn’t really any good at all. sometimes more trouble than it’s worth it seemed.

  5. If we are still together by the time I go to college, I’m going to make an attempt to fly down to NY once in a while to see her. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be…if not, then oh well.

  6. Its high school kid, don’t get your hopes up too much. I’ve seen more of those relationships go down the shitter faster than a late night Taco Bell run. I think from our year, I only know of two or three still going strong.
