10/08/01 01:09 PM: It had to be done.
It had to be done.
No, really it had to be done.
People are saying that it’s the same as what they did to us. People are saying that we need to seek diplomatic solutions. I say those people are wrong.
How can you negotiate with people who put no value on human life? You cannot.
How can we possibly negociate with people who use terror and intimidation to achieve their goals? We cannot.
Some will say that is precisely what the US has done in the past, and what we are doing now. I beg to differ. I really do beg to differ. People all to often like to criticize the government. Some of the time that criticism is warranted. However, it should be noted, that typically, we have tried to do what is commonly considered as right. I know you will shoot this down with various examples of how that isn’t true, but I don’t care. This is my web site, and if I want to say it I can.
As it has been said over and over, the people at the World Trade Center, and on those airplanes had nothing to do with what Osama bin Laden is “fighting.” Nothing. Don’t say “lets look at it from bin Laden’s point of view,” that is not possible. You just don’t blow up thousands of people as part of a public relations war. You just don’t do that. I wish that we didn’t have to use military force, as I think all of us do. There is no alternative. If we do nothing, the attacks will continue. If we do something, yeah, maybe we will face more danger at home. However, as it has been said, the risk of doing nothing is far worse.
I support the military action taking place right now. Furthermore, and more importantly, I support the aid missions taking place now also.
We’ve seen the video put out by bin Laden. How can you say we need to negociate with him? We cannot sell out Israel, again, just to make peace with terrorists.
No change can be affected using terror. Bin Laden tries to use terror to achieve “peace” in Palastine. Peace cannot be brought by terror. Peace can be brought from justice. Justice is what we all are seeking.
