10/28/02 03:30 PM: Just call me Batman
So I didn’t feel like doing my homework, so I decided to clean up our room. I took off the screen on my window, and it starts dripping. I look up and there is a dead bat hanging from the top of the window. I had class in five minutes, so I left a note for my roommate and asked my RA who I should call. I was talking to my roommate and he said that it was hard to shut the window this morning. What I think happened was that the bat was hanging there and Tugs crushed it. It took Enviromental Services 3 hours to get here to take out the bat. Meanwhile, we’re showing everbody that we have a dead bat in our room, and it smelled like shit. We took our fans and opened the windows wide to try and air the room out. It was quite possibly the strangest end to a strange weekend.
In other news, a US diplomat in Jordan was murdered. Jordanian officials are not calling it an act of terrorism yet, but its pretty obvious that it is. Seven shots to the head and chest is pretty obvious that you wanted to kill the man. Jordan is one of the US allies in the Middle East. This could pose problems to the US because of Jordan’s location and their friendly demeanor to the US. We’ll see what happens in the future with this, but it seems that this is something we should watch closely for a while.
