05/26/04 04:38 PM: Kerry/McCain
Okay, I realize I just updated complaining about Kerry, but here is some interesting news. For a while I have been a big advocate of the Kerry/McCain idea… and here’s a new poll. CBS News Poll shows Kerry-McCain beating Bush-Cheney by 14%.
The Kerry/McCain ticket draws 15% of Republican voters while keeping the same level of support among Democrats – 80% – that Kerry enjoys alone. However, the addition of McCain brings many more veterans to the Democratic camp: tested one-on-one against Bush, Kerry loses to Bush among veterans, 54% to 41%. With Kerry and McCain together, the two tickets split the veteran vote.
I would be all for this. Some people will say, “but McCain is a Republican!” Indeed, he may be, but this would make history. A bi-partisan effort to unseat Bush. It would unite moderates, and perhaps create an administration where things could actually get done. I would much prefer Kerry/McCain to Kerry/Edwards.

So its speech day at school and the teacher is making all the kids talk about what their parents do. All the usual answers come up; Doctor, Lawyer, Police, Firefighter, until Little Johnny goes up to speak.
“My Daddy dances at a gay strip club. He gets naked in front of other men and jumps on a pole. Sometimes, if the money is right, he will go to the back room to have sex with them.” The teacher, mortified, rushes through the rest of the kids so that they forget what was just said.
After class, the teacher goes up to Johnny and asks him if what he said was true. Johnny replied, “No, hes actually the campaign manager for John Kerry, I was just too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids.”
