06/23/01 12:55 PM: Ticket scalping
Last time I checked, we are living in a capitalistic society, aren’t we?
Isn’t it pretty lame that I can’t sell a ticket to a certain concert for a price above the “face value.” But, if I was an authorized ticket broker or something like that, I could charge whatever I want. Just where do these lawmakers come off trying to mess with supply and demand. Anyway, I’m not planning on selling my tickets, yet, but it seems like its pretty lame to let selected rich people sell tickets, when I cannot. Either allow everyone to sell tickets, or no one to sell tickets. Maybe if the ticket brokers had to compete with normal people selling tickets, then the prices would be more reasonable, eh? Anyway that’s just my opinion—I could be wrong.
So the Radiohead concert is going to be at Arvey Field, in Chicago, the first time a large concert will be at that venue. The Chicago Tribune had a good article about the new spot, and the problems that might arise. Oh well. I have three tickets, so its all good.
