    I see a trend. I do think that your judgement is clouded in that your top 5s are all from the same bands. Most of these songs are an acoustic guitar with some other instrument, which isn’t the hardest thing to play. The vocals aren’t all that hard either. I’m not saying that the shit on the radio is any better, but these songs all embody the same sort of mellow atmosphere. I’d try and vary the list to liven it up a bit.

    good observation. Yeah, there are a lot of things i’m not including on the list… such as my obsession with Pink Floyd and Radiohead, and The Who and the Rolling Stones… But not all of these bands are just acoustic guitar with simplistic vocals. The top musicians were selected mostly because of their lyrical/writing quality…

    Damn dude, I just put that up. All I’m saying is that most of these songs put me to sleep. I think that the four bands you mention in the comment though are more influential through their songwriting than your top 5. I must say though, any musician that writes their own music is ten times more talented than one who doesn’t.
