07/27/04 12:54 AM: A Midsummer's Update

Ah, it has been a while since I’ve updated. Eeep, I feel badly. In any case, I have a few things to write about, and for the sake of making life easier I will present this post in the form of a list. – I bought a Powerbook! It’s used, but it’s simply beautiful. 15” Mmm, the screen is just so so amazing. Plus it’s so much faster than my old iBook, which I have since sold on eBay. It’s so nice to have something that runs Mac OS X correctly. – I wish Bill Clinton was still President. I loved his speech at the convention on Monday night. I really miss having such a great speaker as President. Obviously there is more to the job of Commander-in-Chief than just delivering a good speech, but it’s a nice skill to have in addition to leadership, vision, etc. – The newish Belle & Sebastian EP, “Books” is great and I recommend buying it. – I’m going to New York soon. Details on that to appear in a later post. – You need to watch this right now! It’s the famous “This Land Is Our Land” parody making fun of Bush and Kerry. – The Bourne Supremacy was good, I recommend it. – Fry’s Electronics is an electronics store of unbelievable proportions. It’s at least 3 times the size of the largest Best Buy I’ve been to. – If any WWU readers have LiveJournals, check mine out. – Death Cab for Cutie will be playing with Modest Mouse in Chicago on August 14! – Visit Adrienne’s website, ten23.net and check out the yawning penguin.

That is all.

  1. Fry’s is indeed HUGE !! I drive past it every day on my way to work. When they were building it there was no sign saying what it was going to be and I thought it would be a huge warehouse or a Home Depot. I was in there during their grand opening. All the employees wear suits and ties. Kind of weird but very professional.

  2. That Kerry/Bush Cartoon is great. I remember hearing about it on the news. The creators of the cartoon had to launch a second site for it b/c there was so much traffic on just one site
