12/20/02 11:11 PM: New Design

As you can see, I have gone and changed the design. I know that it works in Internet Explorer 6, and also in Mozilla or any modern version of Netscape (6.0 or later, I suppose). If you have something older, or something like lynx, then obviously you won’t see the site the way I designed it. In any case, that would make you someone who needs a better browser.

Enough with the technical jargon. I really, for once, like the site design. I really wasn’t a big fan of the previous one, and decided to go back to the very simple, elegant and minimalist design. I don’t want something really gaudy or too flashy that it takes away all the attention from the content.

The photo in the top is of the Dahlgren Quad at Georgetown, I took it a few weeks ago, while it was snowing. That was the first time it snowed this year, and it resulted in the school virtually shutting down. I really like the picture though.

Today is my Birthday, and I believe I will be using Birthday funds, along with some money I made selling stuff on eBay, to go to a fine local retailer to purchase my very own iBook. I will have more about this tomorrow, with pictures of the new machine.

So I enter the very last year of being a “teenager,” though I really have mixed feelings about the whole birthday thing. Nineteen is pretty much a meaningless birthday, other than for the fact that I can now legally drink in Canada… but I don’t live in Canada… so yeah.

I’ll leave it to Jerry Seinfeld…
“Well, birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year’s gone by and how little we’ve grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, each flicker of the candles on the cake we know it’s not to be. That for the rest of our sad, wretched, pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably. Happy birthday? No such thing.”
