03/13/03 09:11 PM: New Jobs
I too, am at home, enjoying the beautiful Chicago weather. I was supposed to go to U of I yesterday, but my plans fell through. I guess it worked out for the better though, becuase I saved on gas, and with prices being what they are, its probably a good thing. I would have had to come back early because I had two job interviews today.
The first one went well. It was at the University of Chicago Hospitals. I didn’t really get a job description from my mom. I thought it would have been like a gopher job or something along those lines. Turns out I would actually be doing research by making viruses with spliced DNA and giving the viruses to mice. It sounds pretty sweet.
The second interview also went very well. They offered me a job on the spot. I would be working at the Museum of Science and Industry as a tour guide. It seems like a fun job, and I would get to interact with a whole lot of different people.
I don’t know which job I will take. The U of C one, sounds cool, becuase I would be doing actual research, not replicating experiments, but designing my own. I don’t think I have the technical expertise to do it though, but the Doctor in charge said he would place me in a place where he thought I would do the most good. The museum job sounds really cool too. I just need to figure out which one will make the most money.
