02/10/03 10:06 PM: Nice!

From the Washington Post:

Three Afghan students visiting Georgetown University disappeared from their Northwest Washington hotel 10 days ago, and officials said yesterday that the trio is still missing.

D.C. police are treating the Kabul natives’ disappearance—first reported in the Georgetown Voice, a campus newsmagazine—as a missing persons case. Police said they have no indications of foul play.

Emphasis is mine. Take that, The Hoya. And can anyone actually tell me what it means to claim to be the “newspaper of record?” I have heard the term “journal of record” to refer to a newspaper, but newspaper of record?

Yeah, well anyway, I have to hand it to Will, Mike, Bailey (happy birthday, by the way), and all the other folks at the Voice who broke that story, it was fairly exciting to watch all of that happen.

This week will be fairly hellish, as I have to write a philosophy paper. It’s one of those always lovely 8-10 pagers, along with a 3-4 page paper for history. Oh well, it’s a three day weekend after this, which will be nice.

In other news, as far as my life goes, this weekend never happened. It was just awful, and I will refuse to ever discuss it.

I have been thinking about a new screen name for AIM, and the candidates left in the running now are “a fake headline,” “a new gravity,” and “the slow descent.” I had some alternative ones but I decided they were bad. So I need to decide among those, I am leaning towards “a new gravity” or “a fake headline.” email me with what you think would be the best…
