10/15/03 10:23 AM: no!

this is all wrong, people.

all! fucking! wrong!

ok, i’m not a HUGE cubs fan. i’m a cubs fan ‘cos my dad is, and i thought i should support them right now more than i should support my evil empire of the yankees. so i’m rooting for the cubs. and against the yankees, because i don’t want them to meet in the world series. ‘cos i can’t pick.

BUT GOD DAMMIT, DON’T BLOW IT YOU ASSHATS!!!

  1. Scroll down on this page to see a slide show of ignorance: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/101503_ns_cubs.html

  2. Unblievalbe, the guy is a moron… apparently he already had a ball tossed to him by one of the players earlier on.

  3. And you guys say White Sox fans are idiots. Can a single guy be the reason that the Cubbies lost? Obviously, because he was the one that started the rally going. Nevermind he wasn’t on the field when the shortstop missed the play. Nevermind that he wasn’t pitching when they scored 8 runs in one inning. Man, I thought of all people, Cubs fans would be used to their team choking at crucial moments.

Heres to not jumping the bandwagon. Southside forever.

  4. Common guys, this is stupidity. Alex Gonzalez blew your game. Then combine that with Dusty Baker’s inability to manage a pitching rotation/bullpen and the mystery’s solved. The fan is innocent.

If Baker takes Prior out of the game after 7 innings, his flat curve wouldn’t have been exposed to a potent Marlin’s line up. Going back even further: if Dusty thinks logically, there was NO reason to leave Prior on the mound for the CG in Gm2. The biggest surprise is that the Rookie’s arm is still attached. Abuse of young pitchers like that should be illegal.

  5. I’m just waiting for the Red Sox to not choke and lose the series against the Yankees.

  6. I do feel bad for the guy. He has reporters stationed outside his home calling his family, friends, colleagues, etc. Also, if you look at the picture everyone around him is reaching for the ball. He was the unlucky one who came closest to it. HORAY to televised sporting events!

You said it Chris. I have gotten so sick of the recent onslaught of people wearing Cub’s parafinalia and claming to have been fans from the get-go.

I will admit I don’t follow baseball too much, but my dad loves the Sox and we frequent Sox games, so I’m gonna sick with my Sox.

I’m also all for the Bulls—-eventhough they’ve made many horrid trades…most recent letting go of Fred Hoiberg….oh well…Go Badgers!!

  8. Hey I don’t pretend to have loved the Cubs forever… It’s games like tonight that remind me why I don’t…

  9. Give me a brake, no team is ever going to win anything if they give up as many runs as the cubs did. Being a baseball official for more than 25 years I’ve never seen a game won or lost by one play. True it may have been at the wrong time, but there were a lot of other things leading up to the loss.

Give this guy Bartman a break. What fan, young or old, doesn’t go to a baseball game in hopes of going a way with a prize ball? It’s as American Pie as baseball itself.

I only wish more people would put more emphasis on other important things that are going on around us everyday. Besides, only a few of the athletes are willing to give anything back to the community.
