01/03/03 08:32 PM: Nothing Much

So I went on a trip to the local Barnes and Noble today, and picked up my very own copy of the Associated Press Stylebook and this little book called The Writer’s Block. It’s a little book, shaped like a block, full of ideas to give you something to write about. When I am bored, I will often want to write, but I just can’t think of anything to write about. Hopefully this will provide me with a little inspiration.

The more I read about John Edwards, the more I like the guy. He seems almost like the perfect candidate for the Democrats. At this point, the lack of name recognition is probably a good thing. Check out this post over at crash.neotope.com, which outlines all of the Democratic candidates. I find his analysis pretty accurate. As far as Edwards goes, you should read this background piece which gives a good look at who he really is. As I said before, he is growing on me. It’s far too early though to really make any solid conclusions on any of the candidates. All I know is that I don’t particularly like Tom Daschle.

I intend on eventually posting a discourse on the troubles of the Democratic party, along with an outline of my own views and what I would do if I were running for public office, but I don’t have the willpower to put that together at the moment.

Instead, I will post an email sent to me by, of all people, my mother.

I agree with Max about U of C many people including physicians in the Chicago area said no don’t send your son there. Haven’t you noticed even after graduation you can spot the U of C grad. The flat affect, the acne pits and shyness. Paxil should be a daily vitamin there. The admininstration states they are trying to make U of C more student friendly. I have driven around the campus and it like a time trip back to Berkly in the 1960 although with more diversity. Well though it would less expensive to send my son to U of C he is at Georgetown and having a great time.
On parent day I notice yes nice looking girls and boys and the occasional U of C escapee usually a white guy with dred locks, sandals, hairy legs riding a bicycle come on the campus isn’t that big. Go Hoyas
