08/21/01 08:15 PM: First day of the last year
Ok, let us discuss my first day of my last year at the wonderful public education facility known as Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
What fun, to arise at 7:15 AM, in order to arrive at said school early to try and get a parking permit. There are, of course, a limited number of spots available for vehicles to park in the lot. Now, it should be noted, I am currently vehicle-less. So, I paid my $50 to get a permit for my mom’s VW Golf, and I will switch when I get a vehicle of my own to drive.
Anyway, I then set out to find and attend my classes. My first class is AP Economics. I walk into the room, and there right above the board in the class room is a sign that says “Who is John Galt?”
Score. An objectivist econ teacher. I think I’m going to like this class.
Anyway, the rest of the day went pretty uneventful. I was angry that my AP Physics class room has no windows. Bah to closed in box-like rooms.
So, what is on tap for the rest of the week? Tommorow night I’m attending a local town hall meeting, so I will indeed miss Gary Condit on television. What a shame, I’m sure CNN and MSNBC will reply the highlights enough for me to gather what happened.
Then, the rest of my time over the weekend will be dedicated to academia and the total redesign of WHFH.org. Yes, CSS and all.
Fear my having of no life!
