I love how college cuts you off from the rest of the world. Today, I found out that the State of the Union Address is tonight. I would like to see what he talks about. His three main points last year were that we were at war, the economy is shot, and that we have to watch out for the “Axis of Evil.” Of the three countries that he called out last year, two are making considerable noise. I would hate to see what Iran does if his predictions so far have been correct. We are still at war, but now its on two fronts. We still have people in Afghanistan, and a war with Iraq is imminent, it seems, no matter how much or how little Saddam complies with us. The economy is still in the dumps. We made little progress during this year, but overall, it fell short of recovering.
All in all, my guess is that we’re in for the same speech we got last year. The only progress that we seem to have made was cleaning out Ground Zero. I guess we will see tonight what Bush plans to do about it.
