So, yeah, I didn’t write my Yale essay today. I am submitting the application online, so I don’t really need to do that until this weekend. Same for Penn, provided I decide to actually do the rest of the application, I will send that out on Monday.
Today was spent not doing much, either playing Counter-Strike, Madden 2002, or reading The Hobbit. I figure I’d start at the beginning of the whole Tolkien series. Oh, I also signed my life away to the Selective Service people today online. Yay!
Tomorrow I am going to the bank, as I am no longer a minor now, to get all of my accounts switched over into my name. That should be fun, or not.
Now, moving on to current events…
I think we should take the “shoe bomber” more seriously. If not for the flight attendant stopping him from lighting that match, that flight would have not reached its destination. It was a very close call, why aren’t we acting like it? The threat clearly has not passed, and we still need to be “on alert” (Whatever that actually means). Why aren’t we calling the passengers and crew who prevented him from destroying the plane heroes? Why are we pretending it’s no big deal?
I was going to rant about the current status of the War on Terror™, and the recent Bin Laden video, but that can wait until tomorrow.
