08/13/04 10:58 PM: Q101 Block Party
Went to the city today for the Q101 Block Party, featuring The Walkmen, Death Cab for Cutie, and Modest Mouse. It was up at the New City YMCA, up on Halstead. I took a friend who went to Georgetown along, who wasn’t familiar with Death Cab. We had a good time, though I wasn’t very impressed by The Walkmen and we left before Modest Mouse played. Death Cab was excellent, as always, and they even played “A Movie Script Ending” and “Photobooth.”
I forgot how much I love Chicago, especially at night. I stopped at the Medici on 57th on the way home to grab some food. It was a good day, it was nice to get out and do something.
What else is new? I want to make a mix from my vinyl, so I need to go buy some actual tapes to make real bonafide mixtapes.
Also, I suggest checking out Adrienne’s site, ten23.net, she’s put up a new design. I really like the little icons she has there.
Speaking of that, I want to do some kind of revamp of this site before I leave for school, but I always say that and I really never get around to doing it. So I will try to get something done, but don’t count on it ;)
Oh, and there’s a Presidental election going on, I should probably talk about that. All in due time my dear readers.
