What is rebellion? Is it wearing jeans with holes and legs wider than hula hoops? Is it getting your tongue/nose/eyebrow/navel pierced? Is it listening to the Sex Pistols or the Ramones? Is it putting a “Fuck the police” sticker on your backpack? Certainly not. That’s not to say that doing any of those things disqualifies you from being a “true” rebel, but those alone do not make it so.
There is a remarkable tendency to take the easy way out. Let’s face it. Why do A, B, and C if we can get by simply by doing D? Why do something for yourself if you can have someone else do it for you?
