Reports of my resignation have been greatly exaggerated. Dave gave me the option of being a “Guest Columnist.” This, after some consideration, sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I don’t have to keep up appearances by posting every day and you will just wait with suspense for my fascinating updates. So, you will see occasional postings by me as the time goes on. I’m not going away, yet. Yes, I know, you were hoping this would be the last of me. Sorry to disappoint.
So in other news, I apparently have a 16-year-old female “stalker” online. Yes, I am in fact that popular to have a stalker. I am sure that Dave nor Kevin can claim that. Hah! Anyway I talked to aforementioned female today and it should be interesting to see if she comes by again on IRC. She’s not a real stalker fortunately because she asked my permission to stalk me, wasn’t that nice? Of course, as Dave put it, ”[she] is obviously a 52 year old retired steel-worker, who sits at the computer smoking a cigar and wearing a hard-hat.” He’s probably right.
Today I wasted most of my time playing with a piece of software called vmware under RedHat Linux 7.1. I won’t bore you with the details, but I didn’t get very far with it and it probably will not do what I want. To phrase that differently, I wasted all of my time today on the computer doing that and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Except I now have a “stalker.” What a day!
