06/07/04 07:06 PM: Ronald Reagan

Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, will be laid to rest later this week, after a state funeral at Washington National Cathedral. I wish I was still in Washington so I could watch the cassion and such, as it will be a huge event. Yet, I am amazed by the brainwashing that is going on regarding the Reagan legacy.
Even liberals are recycling these lines about how Reagan was one of the greatest presidents ever, and was the most popular president ever. The second claim is easily disproved by polling data.
In any case, I believe Reagan was a nice guy, and was 100 times the man George W. Bush is. I’ll even bite my tounge, and smile and nod when conservatives say how wonderful he was. But somehow I don’t think liberals will get the same amount of respect when Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton pass on.
