So Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts says he will filibuster any attempts to open up the Alaskan Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling. Thank you, Sen. Kerry for standing up against the greedy oil henchmen, as I like to call them. I agree with his view that it is totally obsurd to link opening the ANWR to solving the California energy crisis. Kerry noted that even if ANWR were opened immediately it would not produce oil for at least 10 years and California generates less than one percent of its electricity from burning oil.
Opening the ANWR to oil exploration is just a pointless and bad idea for everyone, except of course the oil industry.
