11/17/01 08:34 PM: Speech Team

So today I awoke at 5:45 AM to go to a speech tournament. While our team’s performance was not exactly grand, nor my performance anything special (Hey, it was my first time doing Extemp), it was still a good time had by all. While we only had three people make it to finals, one of my friends managed to take first in her event, prose. Well anyway, so it goes, it was worth getting up early for.

What else is new? Well, tommorow I leave for Philadelphia. Following that, I will be going to Boston, then New Haven, CT, and finally New York City. I will be returning home on Friday. I may or may not have internet access while I am gone, I’m not sure.

I’m looking forward to the trip, less the whole 700 mile drive part, but I think it will be worth it to visit the various campuses. I’m going to leave it to dfd and kevin to post while I am gone, unless for some reason I feel like posting and do indeed find Internet access.

So, while at the tournament today, I talked to Nick’s RA at Northwestern. Yeah, this is kind of a long and twisted coincidence. You see, he (the RA) used to go to my school about 3 years ago, but now he judges the tournaments, and yeah he lives next door to Nick. Weird, huh? Even stranger, the said RA referred to Nick as “boy with purpose” (his AIM name) in public.

Ok, well I’m going to get some sleep, I’ll be back in a few.

Confidential to Chris Barr: Tell Haywood I’ll be gone all week (All 2.5 school days)
