05/03/01 08:53 PM: So tonight was the opening
So tonight was the opening night of my play. I guess we did alright. I forgot a line momentarily, but I recovered without too much damage. Not bad for my first time acting ever. They apparently skipped a whole scene in the first act. Oops. The good thing was, it is an original play, so the audience didn’t know the difference. Hell, I didn’t even notice. The first act was a little weak, but Mother Jones certainly woke everyone up with, “Damn you! You are not fit to live!” I think they heard that across town. About 35 people came. Not terrible for a low(no)-budget high school production on a Thursday night. It seemed like more than that, actually. My parents, my grandpa, and a few friends came. That’s all that really matters. Friends, family, and having fun.
School is quite a joke most of the time. We did a lab in AP Biology today. We put pillbugs (terrestrial isopods) in petri dishes and observed their behavior. You’ll never guess what happened. They tried to get out! I also like how the lab referred to them as “roly-polies.”
