08/26/01 09:19 PM: Could I do it?

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. Dave pointed me to this article. Quick summary, journalist interviews person on trial for murder, person commits suicide, FBI wants her files. She denies, goes to jail. I don’t know about you, but given that position I would have turned over the evidence the FBI wanted. It is wonderful and admirable to go to jail for a cause, but to go to jail for a person who committed suicide (thus protecting a dead person who took their own life – different from protecting a dead person who was murdered) does not seem to me to be worth it. My own freedom is worth more than the principle that you protect your sources as a journalist. I guess I would make a bad journalist.

I said I would link my friend jody’s website, so go and visit!

I will try to update more frequently. That’s about it for now.
