07/06/03 08:22 PM: Summer Rain
So I attended nickd’s bbq up in Evanston today. I enjoy Evanston, it’s a nice area. It was a fun afternoon, though a little awkward because I only actually knew two people there. But, meeting people is good and being outside is good also, and no one can argue with good food. There were a few storms, which I ended up driving through on the way back. I don’t so much mind driving through heavy storms, I just hate the other people who drive through them. I really hate the people in SUVs who drive over 90, creating so much spash that you can’t see a damn thing.
On the way back, a very large rainbow appeared. It spanned the entire sky, and was magnificent. I hadn’t seen anything like that in a long time. I managed to get a few pictures of it with my little Nikon digital camera:

Beautiful.
The drive to Evanston wasn’t bad, though I did underestimate how long it would take me to get there. I ended up arriving a little late, but still got there in time to see a few hilarious attempts at getting the grill lit. I took the tri-state up to Dempster, to avoid driving through the city. I figured with the Taste wrapping up and with annoying construction on 57, this would be faster. I’m sure you all cared how I got there.
In any case, that’s about all to report for now. I hope everyone reading this has had a good fourth of July weekend.
Oh, time for a completely off-topic, really random and just bad joke:
Apple should make a deal with the International House of Pancakes, and create the world’s first firewire-powered pancake griddle. The iHop.

thanks for the concern, though.
