05/16/04 07:30 PM: Sunshine in a Bag
For some reason, unknown to me, I am listening to the Gorillaz. I have not listened to this track, “Clint Eastwood” in a very long time. It’s bringing back memories of something, but I’m not sure what. In any case, I thought I would just post an update, since it’s been a while since anything of consequence was posted.
I’m back in Homewood, IL now, arriving home after a very long drive on Friday. I’m still in the process of unpacking, which is of course the epitome of fun. Meh, so it goes? I’m also unemployed. I had a job offer in Washington, but due to parental objections (and lack of financing from said parental unites), I couldn’t stay out there. Home will at least provide some time for rest and relaxation, hopefully. I have big plans of playing the piano, and learning how to play Belle & Sebastian’s “Get me away from here, I’m dying” on the guitar.
Unrelated, the semester is now over. Grades aren’t in yet, but this semester won’t exatly be stellar. I’m hoping for a B average, we’ll see. Next term I’ll be able to start fresh. It will be nice. For anyone who cares, my schedule is as follows:
ECON-101: Microeconomic Theory
Lecture: MW 01:15PM – 02:30PM
Discussion: T 07:00PM – 09:00PM
PHIL-109: The Right and the Good
Lecture: MW 04:15PM – 05:30PM
SPAN-021: Intermediate Spanish I
Lecture: MWF 12:15PM – 01:05PM
THEO-159: Portraits of Jesus in the New Testament
Lecture: TR 01:15PM – 02:30PM
THEO-266: New Testament Seminar: The Gospels
Seminar: TR 11:40AM – 12:55PM
Should be interesting, hopefully. I’m really looking forward to it.
So I got a call from an old high school friend of mine, who just graduated from college. It really seems like yesterday I had a class with her in high school. Time certainly marches on… whether we want it to or not. Life sure is creeping up on me.
What else is new? Well, The Decemberists are coming to Chicago on June 4. I want to go, but I don’t really want to go by myself. As much as I have fun at shows by myself, going with someone else who is a fan is always more fun. If you haven’t heard of them, you should download the song “The Legionnaire’s Lament” or “July! July!” They are sort of like, uh… Belle & Sebastian and The New Pornogaphers put into a blender. If you don’t know either of the other two groups… hmm I’m not sure how to describe them. Just check them out.
Other than that, I can’t believe it’s summer again. Last summer seems not that long ago… yet it seems so distant sometimes. Sigh. Enough living in the past though, it’s time to move forward.
Note: At Georgetown, Intro to Microeconomics is ECON-001, so this is the second-level Micro theory course. I don’t know why they don’t just do ECON-201 or something… whatever.
