Blogger picked a mighty fine time to malfunction. I had written something of a substantial length. Quite satisfied with myself, I attempted to upload it to the site. I then got a timeout error and everything I had written was now gone. Deep breaths. . . deep breaths. There really are a lot of things more worthy of getting worked up over. The syntax of that sentence seems all wrong, but that’s not worthy of getting worked up over, either.
So, yeah, I had something to say. . . .
I read an AP wire report about 10,000 people protesting against Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid Monday in Jakarta. They were calling for him to resign because of two corruption scandals. That got me thinking about what has been going on around the globe lately. Dictators and pseudodemocratic officials are having a rough time in some places. Chile’s Augusto Pinochet is in trouble.
