02/26/01 10:46 AM: The Miami Herald is now
The Miami Herald is now reporting that Al Gore would have lost a manual recount in Miami-Dade County. While this is all well and good, part of a new effort to “legitimize” Bush’s victory, I believe we should look at all the votes in Florida, state wide. This is being done by several news organizations, and I believe the outcome will show that Gore had a majority of the “undervotes” in the election. These facts are however not very relevent, considering all the factors in the election, such as the police roadblocks in front of some polling places… asking for 3 forms of identification to vote, etc.
Also, Alaska Senator Frank Murkowski is ready to submit his bill on opening the Alaskan Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, a Democrat, is threatening a filibuster, and several moderate Republicans have said they won’t be able to support opening the refuge to drilling. I’m so glad that there are some people in Congress are willing to stand up against these money grubbing oil seekers…
