The Simpsons is truly the only television show worth watching. It is miles and miles above any other show. I saw for the first time (apparently I’m a couple years behind) the other day the episode where Springfield Elementary gets shut down and then reopens under the control of a private company. There seems to be something strange about the “education” that the children are receiving. It turns out that the “teachers” were really R&D/marketing types who were using the kids to find out what would get them to buy a toy. They take the information and create the next Furby. I mean, it’s funny at face value, but the social criticisms are superb. If you want to know what’s really going on, you might as well turn on the Simpsons rather than Dateline.
Not that anybody has ever heard of these bands, but I saw Most Precious Blood, Killswitch Engage, and Candiria tonight.
