What is the bigger threat?

MOSCOW, June 19 – Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a late-night meeting with American journalists on Monday, said his country would boost its nuclear arsenal if President Bush were to unilaterally proceed with a plan to build a national missile shield. Despite showing a new willingness to consider amending some arms control agreements, Putin said that Washington’s proposed national missile defense would undermine decades of nuclear weapons pacts and spark an “uncontrolled” arms race.

Do we really want to begin another cold war to protect ourselves against the so called “rogue nations.” I don’t know for sure. Russia desires to be included in the construction of the missile shield, and would like for us investigate the possibility of building one that covers both nations. Sounds like a fair deal, then we don’t have to scrap international treaties. Call me crazy, but do we want a revival of the “Evil Empire?”
