10/19/02 07:19 PM: Whos Gonna Win?

We’re in October now, and its time for all you students to get your absentee ballot applications in. At the risk of sounding like an old person, I urge everybody to excercise their right to vote. Its very exciting to be able to choose your government. I wish I could see the Illinois debates at school. I’ve been in Nebraska, and no one cares about Illinois politics in Nebraska, so forgive me if I’m wrong on my stories. There was a debate this past week in which the two candidates for Governor squared off. Going into the debate, the Republican candidate Jim Ryan was down something like 11%. The Democratic candidate, Rod Blagojevich, tried to pin Ryan to the License for Bribes Scandal by saying that Ryan didn’t do enough to investigate the matter. Ryan wasn’t even the Attorney General at the time of the scandal. Ryan essentially made Blagojevich look like an idiot after the remark. Heres the link with the whole story.

I didn’t like Blagojevich before the debate, and I think this just solidifies my opinion against him. He runs some dirty politics. One of the guys that my dad had worked with in the past was running for an elected position, and Blagojevich played dirty. I actually picked up a Democrat primary ballot so that I would see Paul Vallas on the ballot instead of Rod. I hope that others won’t let this idiot into the Governer’s Mansion and vote instead for Jim Ryan.
