12/02/05 11:29 PM: I'm still alive

OK, In order to prevent the blog vultures from circling here, I’m going to do an update! A real update!

A few things. It looks like all of my guest writers have taken indefinite hiatus. This is sad. Chris has been absent for a long time, as well as Sean. With a new design and format I may decide to fly solo, but maybe not. I’m keeping my options open.

Speaking of which, I have to decide a few things. Do I do some gruntwork to convert the old entries to Wordpress, or do I just save the archives they way the are now and link to them statically? The later is obviously easier, but knowing me I’ll relearn all my tricks in PHP and make some neat script to do everything. We’ll see.

So, anyways. I’m still writing for The Georgetown Voice. I’m back in my old spot, writing the coulmn on DC politics. I’m excited about that, I think all in all that was my favorite job that I’ve had at the Voice.

In January I’ll also be starting an internship at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). For those not familiar, here’s their website. I’m looking into possible careers in federal law enforcement, at this point possibly involving computer crimes and forensics. I am also looking at some graduate programs at the George Washington University.

I’m a semester away from graduating. Bittersweet and all of that jazz. I am torn if I want to attempt any sort of career in journalism. I’ve written some good pieces, and I’ve been involved in either print or broadcast journalism for nearly eight years now. But, I just don’t know. A journalism class I took this semester has sort of reinspired me, but if the NCIS internship proves to be interesting, I think I’ll go in that direction.

If anyone is curious, here’s my latest column from the Voice: Corruption 101.
