   I agree, it is not sustainable. A 1953 study commissioned by the Eisenhower Admisistration called “Resources for Freedom” reached the same conclusion. It is interesting to read it and see how many of the predictions came true. I well remember Ronald Reagan speaking of the past “when we had energy problems”.

   According to my calculations, that means that in another 12,000 to 15,000 years we will have consumed all plant life that existed on the Earth before us, at which point we will have to begin consuming plants that haven’t even grown yet.
