so, rather than trying to switch over to a different install of movabletype, i believe i am going to change the cms to wordpress. it is gpl’ed, uses php/mysql and has spam protection for comments.
of course, this probably means i need to rework the backend of the site, as i pretty much wrote a php template engine since movabletype didn’t have that.
i want to have this done in a few weeks, so i can get comments up and running and maybe even a shiny new design for you guys.
