Well, I want to have the new design ready for the 1000th post… so you know what that means. The 1000th post may have to wait a few days….
I’m debating several things with the new design. Thing the first, I want it to be fixed width… like it has always been with one exception. I hated the design when it was not fixed-width, so I don’t want to go back to that. I need a way to make the site have the same feeling of the designs I really like, but not have it be copy of those designs. I need something original, but with the same appeal I find in other designs. Does that make sense?
Thing the second, I’m debating how to incoprorate images into the site. Right now, I like how the header of the site has the background image. Unfortuntely the margins are a bit different in Safari than Camino or IE, so the top part has been broken a bit in Safari. So, I just opt to view the site in Camino. That will have to change, I don’t like doing that… I don’t know if I’ll continue to have some sort of header image (most likely it would be smaller), or to just have text-only.
Thing the third, I’m contemplating redoing the entire way the site works. Most likely visitors wouldn’t notice the difference, but I would. It would just make many things simpler for me if I cleaned up some of the code here, but that all depends on if I want to spend time doing that or not.
Is there a fourth thing? Well, other than debating if I want to try and incorporate a photoblog into the 1K redesign. Most likely this won’t happen, and it will come later.

Yay for Radiohead coming to Chicago right after I leave for Washington. At the moment, there aren’t any east coast dates after I leave either. So, it looks like Radiohead’s a no-go this time around.
